The purpose of the study is to provide an overview of different means to support the development of renewable energy in light of the European State Aid Guidelines from 2014. The study includes international experiences with various policy measures and alternative paths for the Nordic countries. There is a special emphasis on current policy measures supporting renewable energy in the electricity and transport sectors.
The New Gameplan is the result of a two-year process, starting in 2014 and completed in June 2016. During the process there have been two seminars with experts from industry and policy. The report was commissioned by the Nordic Working Group for Renewable Energy under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
