This report was commissioned by the Nordic Working Group on Renewable Energy and Hydrogen and provides an overview of the development of distributed electricity production and self-consumption in the Nordics and how it might evolve in the future.
Furthermore, it analyses and describes the effects of such developments on system integrity, production volumes, and profitability. Finally, it identifies national and/or common Nordic challenges or perceived barriers to distributed generation and self-consumption of electricity. It also addresses how local energy storage may interplay with distributed electricity production and self-consumption
