Report launch: Energy Security in the Nordics

The Nordic energy cooperation is unique in the world. Our shared power system is built on the strength of combining renewable and fossil‑free energy sources that flow freely across borders within a common market. Access to clean and reliable electricity has formed the foundation of the Nordic region’s competitiveness.

But in a time marked by geopolitical uncertainty, threats of sabotage, and a more vulnerable European energy system, the old forms of cooperation are no longer sufficient.

In October last year, the Nordic energy ministers emphasised in a joint statement the need for intensified Nordic cooperation to strengthen energy security and emergency preparedness. Against this backdrop, Nordic Energy Research has commissioned Economic Security Forum to map energy security in the Nordic region.

The report Energy Security in the Nordics covers vulnerabilities in the Nordic energy system, opportunities in Nordic cooperation for the future in short- and long-term perspectives, and the state of Nordic energy security.

Join us online for the launch and discussion of the report’s key findings and recommendations.

A participation link will be sent to registered participants on the day of the event.
