The Nordic-Baltic Networking Group on Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (NgCCUS) brings together government representatives from the Nordic and Baltic countries.
The group was established in 2019 by the Nordic Committee of Senior Officials for Energy Policies (EK-E) under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Mandate 2025–2027
The networking group’s mandate is to support the implementation of Nordic Vision 2030 through knowledge exchange, experience, and networking on CCUS. The work is closely aligned with the goals of Nordic Co-operation Programme for Energy 2025-2030.
Networking group objectives
Based on its mandate, the group aims to:
- Promote information exchange and cooperation on decarbonisation, with a focus on CCUS developments and relevant policies
- Encourage the creation and sharing of new knowledge in the field of CCUS
- Facilitate dialogue on CCUS‑related policy issues and assess possible joint actions in relation to EU/EEA processes
- Facilitate dialogue on CCUS‑related strategies and consider how Nordic, Baltic and EU strategies can align and reinforce one another
Nordic Energy Research provides secretariat support for NgCCUS on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
