The aim of the project is to investigate the effects on regions and local communities of implementing electric flights and to look at energy capacity and other critical factors for implementation.
The Nordic countries share challenges regarding accessibility and mobility to remote areas. The first generation electric aircrafts are small and have limited range, which is why the implementation of electric aircrafts could be a possible solution for such remote areas. The time saved by using an electric plane instead of a car or railway may be considerable, since you have to pass bodies of water or mountains in many places. The increased mobility and accessibility has the potential to create effects in regions and local communities, such as access to public services or the establishment of businesses and jobs, while electric flights can contribute to the green transition.
This project aims to investigate the effects on regions and local communities of implementing electric flights, and to look at energy capacity and other critical factors for implementation.
Project results
Explore the six areas of priority for future Nordic cross-sectoral collaboration for a green transition of the transport sector. The recommendations are based on input from experts on green transport and mobility, who gathered to share innovative results and solutions at the Nordic Green Transport Forum in 2024.
